The March 29 Vietnam Veterans Reunion lunch in Salisbury was AWESOME!  Thanks to the over 900 Vietnam and other Veterans, family members and supporters who joined us for a great afternoon of food, entertainment, fellowship and recognition.  And, we could not have done it without the great team at Rowan Hospice & Palliative Care / Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, and over 35 Volunteers who took care of all the large and small details of the event, including the Jr. ROTC Color Guard from Salisbury High School. A special thanks to Rockie Lynne, his wife Susan, Dirk and Daelyn Dowell and the band crew for their special musical tribute to our Veteran attendees.  Drew Barkley provided the touching Bag Pipe music.  I would like to recognize our sponsors who provided the funds to make this event happen.  Please read these names and support them whenever you have the opportunity.  Rowan Hospice & Palliative Care, Hospice & Palliative CareCenter, The Gary Sinise Foundation, BB&T, Novant – Rowan Medical Center, Cannon Pharmacy, Richard’s Coffee Shop, Thelma’s Down Home Cooking, Marlow’s BBQ and Seafood, Ben Mynatt Automotive, American Health Research, Oak Park Retirement, The Laurels of Salisbury, Trinity Oaks, Powels-Staton Funeral Home Cloninger Ford, Coca-Cola Consolidated, Daughters of the American Revolution (Elizabeth Maxwell Steel Chapter), American Legion and VFW Posts in Lexington, American Legion Post – Salisbury, DAV Chapter 75, American Legion – Faith NC, VFW Post 3074, Jane Steinberg, UNC TV, The Embassy Suites – Concord, Belk in Salisbury and Winston-Salem.
